The Paulden Layout

We tend to say, "Wait till I am retired and have time to build the layout I have always wanted."  Well, that time has come for me.  Retirement, coupled with the new house gave me a once in a lifetime opportunity to build train layouts the way I had always wanted to do.  Use all that experience from those earlier layouts.  No more excuses!

To give you an orientation, the basement is "L" shaped, about 72 feet on the long leg and 46 feet on the shorter.  In one end I have a lounge area, workshop and rest room.  The rest is trains.  Here is a link to the room showing the high rail layout.  Layout plan

On the following pages, I tell the story of how we built the layouts and then share with you some photos of what you will find in the Atonna basement.

Click on the Building It link on the left to start the story of building the Seligman and Paulden Lines as well as the other layouts.  The Photo Album will be updated as I take more photos, so check back every so often.

Enjoy.
